Process - Pre-Production Sample

The Pre-Production Sample

Pre-Production Sample is the term that is given to the first few pieces created prior to the final production run. The pieces are completely painted in accordance with the Graphic Sheet and ran through the pad printing process. By this stage the mold has been hardened and none of the actual pieces can be changed with out a remake. This step is primarly where the colors, graphics and final assembly techniques are checked for quality.

A small group of Pre-Production Samples has to be created for each group of boats that will be produced.

Click through the pictures above and note all of the detail that was given to the key areas of the model such as: correct colors for all of the hose fittings, steering wheel, various colored control knobs, guages, engine componets and the breather filters on the over flow tank are even correct!
